The oddities of American campaigning always catch a foreigner by surprise.  Romney’s attack on Public Service Broadcasting, as a waste of the taxes he has never paid in the first place, might in other circumstances, pass quietly by.  But not in the USA.

Would Britain mount such a defence of Blue Peter or Badger Watch?

In America you are a brave or foolhardy politician if you take on the Muppets or Sesame Street.

So today in Washington a march to support Public Service Broadcasting is taking place, called inevitably perhaps The Million Muppet March!  It’s not political, it’s not anti-Romney and the forces of Corporate Greed and Corruption, no, no, no.  Three days before an election everything is political!

Should be fun though!  Details are here
