“I have in my hand a piece of paper….”

Ain’t it just.  I mean with all that is going on in the world today with corruption, terrorism, war, man-made famines in three separate countries, the press this morning have gone utterly overboard because at an awards ceremony someone handed the wrong envelope to someone at the wrong time and – shock horror – there was a minor mix-up for a couple of minutes at some self-absorbed lovies creep-fest.

Every single paper and media site has devoted acres of coverage to this facile non event.  It’s phenomenal coverage.  A “Shit-storm” hit Twitter it seems.  Dear God what would it have been like if something important happened?

I don’t think it would be an exaggeration to suggest that if a world leader were assassinated right now they would get less column inches than this non-sense.

And the established press wonder why they are not taken seriously.

Seriously, it is not fake news we need to worry about.  It is this obsession with non-news.
