Today France is voting in its most important and divisive presidential election in decades. Whoever wins today will be subjected to the most intensive scrutiny and should inexperience get it wrong will be eaten by the opposition in short order. Expect the June Parliamentary elections to be round three.
The French with their dry sense of humour are calling this “The Freudian Election” in that it is being contested between a woman who killed her father, and a man who married his mother.
